English Tourism Week 2024

English Tourism Week is back for 2024, celebrating not only the vast contribution that tourism makes to the economy, but also the countless attractions, events and places to stay that make it all possible.

Every year Visit England leads on the celebrations for our diverse, exciting and vibrant sector, to highlight both the quality and value of English tourism.

As well as adding to our collective wellbeing, the tourism industry supports around 2.6 million jobs and brings in £100 billion into the national economy. It's also a renowned employer of school leavers and young people, as well as being an incubator for entrepreneurs and innovation.

This year's English Tourism Week takes place from 15-24 March with events and celebrations running the length and breadth of England.

As ever, here in Portsmouth we'll be shining a light on some of the city's top attractions and providing a whole host of special offers - to not only encourage visits from elsewhere but also to help those people living in or near the city to explore what's right on the doorstep.

The D-Day Story

Anyone with a PO post code can get 30% off the on-the-door ticket price at The D-Day Story. Simply present proof of address to get the discount.

Spinnaker Tower

There's a 20% discount available to those with a PO post code all year round at Spinnaker Tower. Provide two proofs of residence at the door (photo ID/utility bill/authorised letter/Leisure Card and a bank/membership/store card with a signature) to get the saving.

Blue Reef Aquarium

The Blue Reef Aquarium on Southsea Seafront has signed up to the Defence Discount Service Card scheme, offering service personnel 15% off each ticket for up to 6 people. For this you will need to buy tickets online, and the Aquarium terms and conditions apply. For more information please contact the team or just pop in!

Blue Reef also offers a Library Card discount, where anyone with a Portsmouth or Hampshire Library Card can get £2 off each ticket to the underwater world. What's more, up to six people can get discounted entry with just one library card - just take it along with you when buying on the door to redeem this special offer.

Portsmouth Leisure Card

If you're receiving means-tested benefits, you could qualify for the Portsmouth Leisure Card, which gives discounts year-round, including entry to Portsmouth Historic Dockyard. Search 'leisure card' at www.portsmouth.gov.uk or call 023 9268 8797.

Hovertravel

Get 20% off standard adult and child day and period returns with Hovertravel this English Tourism Week.
