Being a relatively small and very flat island, Portsea is ideal for exploring on foot or bicycle. To ensure you find it easy to get around, we have a number of maps showing the city streets, big attractions and routes to take.
The Portsmouth Street Map (PDF, 4.3MB) covers the main tourist hotspots around Southsea, Old Portsmouth, Eastney and beyond. All the roads and streets are labelled, as well as a number of attractions and cycleways. It has been made into a large file so you can print it out and still see the detail, or zoom in on your device where necessary. This map can also be found in our visitor guides.
The Active Travel Map (PDF, 5.7MB) provides detail across all of Portsea Island and the towns to our north. It covers walkways, cycle paths and more, as well as the National Cycle Path route stretching across the South Coast. Here you'll also find contact details for places to secure bicycle spares and repairs, as well as handy reminders of Highway Code guidelines and general bike security.
Anyone not quite so confident on two wheels can follow our Quieter Cycle Route Map (PDF, 1.1MB). It comprises ten colour-coded routes (many of which link onto one another) that enable you to get around the city whilst avoiding some of the major through roads.
There is also a map of public toilets (PDF, 191KB) around the city, as well as their regular opening hours.
