About
The Portsmouth Fireworks Display returns for 2024, with a spectacular event planned for Southsea Common.
Remember remember the 5th of November, as that'll be the date that the skies above Southsea Common will explode into colour with a huge fireworks display.
The site opens at 4pm, with stalls and entertainment for the whole family. Then, the big event itself is scheduled to take place from 7pm.
A variety of hot food and refreshments will be available on site - with burgers, loaded fries, hog roast, gyros, sweets, hot drinks and toasted marshmallow pits just some of what visitors can expect.
On-site facilities will include toilets, first aid, a visitor information point and a separate welfare tent including a lost child point, lost and found, ear defenders, and seating space for anyone feeling overwhelmed.
As in recent years, there will be no bonfire as part of the event.
Attendees are advised to plan their journeys in advance, given the expected high levels of attendance. Allow extra time to reach the site and consider taking the bus, renting an e-scooter, cycling or walking where possible for a hassle-free experience.
Please note this display is weather-dependent. If (as in some previous years) there are weather warnings in place the display will not be allowed to go ahead. Follow our social channels for the latest information - not just on this display but everything else going on at the Great Waterfront City.
