About
Cancer Research UK's Race for Life returns to Southsea Common in 2025, to raise vital funds in a friendly, supportive and inclusive atmosphere.
All are welcome to join the Race for Life, with 3k, 5k and 10k routes open to men, women and children. Everyone taking part does so for one common purpose: to walk, jog or run to beat cancer.
Race for Life is different to most running events as it fosters a famously supportive atmosphere - one without as much competitiveness as similar events. This makes it ideal for everyone, whether you want to get out and set a PB, try your first distance race, or just challenge yourself for a good cause.
Road closures
Please note Clarence Esplanade (from its junction with Jack Cockerill Way to east of the D-Day Car Park) and Avenue de Caen (in its entirety) will be closed with no loading and waiting during the events. Restrictions will be in place on Saturday 29 June and Sunday 30 June, from 7am until 3pm, or completion of the event, whichever is sooner.
Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout.
Vehicles (including cyclists) will be diverted from Jack Cockerill Way to Clarence Esplanade via Clarence Parade, Duisburg Way and Pier Road (and vice versa).
