The renovations are part of a rebranding initiative of the hotel which involves a name change from the ‘Royal Maritime Hotel & Club’ to the ‘Royal Maritime Hotel’. As a former sailors’ home, the maritime theme is captured in Royal Navy and maritime memorabilia, with artefacts, paintings and relics that reflect its past. One of the most treasured pieces is the visitor’s book dating back to 1863. It contains the signatures of Royal visitors such as King George V, Queen Mary, Queen Victoria & Queen Elizabeth II.

The fact that the hotel is a five-minute walk from Portsmouth Historic Dockyard and just 10 minutes from Gunwharf Quays and Spinnaker Tower is ‘icing on the cake’ for families with small children.
