Portsmouth’s largest Christmas market is back! The Port Solent Festival of Christmas Market boasts over 100 stalls, making it the perfect place to find unique gifts, festive entertainment and delicious treats.
This two-day event on 7th and 8th December is set to be an unmissable experience, perfect for a day out for the whole family.
There are countless reasons why you simply can’t miss this festive extravaganza - so we've asked the Port Solent team to outline the top five.
- Handmade Gifts for Everyone
At the heart of the Christmas Market is a collection of local artisans and talented stallholders showcasing their creative talents. This is the place to find one-of-a-kind gifts that you won’t see anywhere else, whether that’s a hand-knitted scarf, handmade jewellery, or a beautiful wreath to hang on your door. It’s the perfect way to support local businesses while finding special items that tell a story.
- Festive Feasting for All Tastes
What would a Christmas market be without delicious seasonal treats? Food lovers will be in for a treat with an array of festive offerings that will tantalise your taste buds. Expect everything from homemade chocolate and hot drinks to Christmas cakes that will keep you satisfied as you browse.
Don’t miss out on the chance to grab a bite at Port Solent’s restaurants between shopping and exploring.
- Live Music and Entertainment to Keep the Whole Family Smiling
The festive fun doesn’t stop at the market – enjoy live entertainment and music throughout the weekend! On Saturday, Port Solent will come alive with musical performances from the Igloo Choir and Band, and the Salvation Army band. And that’s just the beginning! For a bit of fun, look out for the Comedy Elves, Balloon Modellers and a Fairy on a Christmas Tree Stilt Performer who will be wandering around spreading cheer. On Sunday, enjoy live performance by the Pompey Pluckers and The Brass Holes.
- Explore All That Port Solent Has to Offer
While you’re at the Christmas market, make sure to explore the rest of Port Solent. Walk along the scenic boardwalk, enjoy the views, and pop into the shops located in the Trading Post, for even more seasonal goodies. If you’re in the mood for a little adventure, take a stroll around the marina. After a day of exploring and shopping, wind down around at Odeon, where you can catch the latest movies to end the day.
- Free Admission & Free Parking – It’s a No-Brainer!
Who says festive fun must come at a high price? The Festival of Christmas Market offers free entry, and there’s free parking too. With so much to see, do and enjoy, you can make a full day of it without breaking the bank.
