Every year Victorious Festival brings tens of thousands of revellers to Southsea Common, excited to see hundreds of acts across a whole host of stages. As well as providing a full weekend of entertainment, the festival also donates to good causes, whilst also helping out with events and installations across Portsmouth all year round.
Here is Victorious Festival in numbers.
80,000 ticketholders per day
Every year, Victorious Festival throws open its doors to as many as 80,000 ticketholders each day. Young and old alike can enjoy the festivities, with a dedicated Family Arena for children as well as all the top bands, artists, DJs, comedians and more keeping the grown-ups entertained.
Hundreds of bands every year
Speaking of bands, Victorious has certainly had its fair share over the years. From Mumford & Sons to Sam Fender, New Order to The Prodigy, they've all graced the Victorious Festival stage.
Of course, it's not just about the huge-name headliners. The festival has a packed programme of live music across the weekend, from future headliners to hyped bands on the up and an enormous array of local, indie and DIY acts. On that subject, whilst many other festivals set aside just a handful of slots for under-the-radar acts, Victorious Festival has, to date, put on more than 1,800 slots for local performers.
Well over 350 acts performed at the 2024 festival, with a similar number expected for 2025.
10+ stages
All those bands and artists will need somewhere to play, and at Victorious Festival there are 10 stages for attendees to choose between. There are the Common and Castle stages, bringing big name acts and headline performances, plus Under the Trees for more intimate performances, to the Seaside Stage bringing disco energy with sea views, and plenty more besides.
£24.3m to the local economy
Whether it's festival ticketholders booking overnight accommodation, getting a bite to eat in the nearby area, or taking in other attractions during a visit, Victorious Festival brings a massive cash injection into Portsmouth's economy. More than £24 million, to be exact, and that's just 2024! Go back a bit further and the amount skyrockets. Since moving to Southsea Common in 2014, the festival has been responsible for giving the area an economic boost of some £132 million.
£135,000 to good causes
Over and above the local economy benefits, Victorious has also stumped up to support a whole host of good causes and charities from Portsmouth and the surrounding areas. In fact, just last year alone (2024), the festival ploughed £135,421.29 into causes championing literacy, mental health, sporting activities and the D-Day 80 commemorations - as well as a great many others.
In the years since that move onto Southsea Common, Victorious Festival's donations to good causes have reached a staggering £830,000, with more than 120 different organisations seeing the benefit.
All this is in addition to the 135 local events supported by the Victorious Festival team's knowledge and expertise, and the 60+ placements handed out each year to help people back into work.
Six big award wins (and a whole load of commendations)
Victorious Festival capped off an incredible 2024 by winning 'Major Festival of the Year' at the illustrious Live Awards. It has also taken home the Access All Areas Awards 'Major Festival of the Year' gong and secured Gold status for its accessibility offering by Attitude is Everything.
In recent years the event has also been named 'Large Festival of the Year' by the National Outdoor Events Association (2019) and handed both a 'Best Cultural or Leisure Business of the Year' and an 'Outstanding Contribution to Business' award at The News Business Excellence Awards.
On top of all that, the event placed in the final of a great many other awards, celebrating everything from the visitor experience to diversity and inclusion, music promotion and family-friendly activities.
