How much do you know about the Mountbatten Leisure Centre, one of BH Live active's many facilities across the South of England? Located at the top of Portsea Island, Mountbatten Centre is a popular place for sporting activities year-round.

We asked the BH Live team to explain just what's on offer, and why the Mountbatten Leisure Centre continues to be so popular.

Mountbatten Centre

Located in the heart of Hilsea, the Mountbatten Leisure Centre is just a short distance from Portsmouth’s city centre. With various BH Live Active memberships and pay-as-you-go options available, there are facilities and activities available for visitors of all ages and abilities – whatever the weather!

Equipped with a large gym with dedicated cardio and weight areas, the centre delivers group exercise classes seven days a week in high-quality fitness studios. From Pilates, Yoga, Group Cycling, Les Mills BodyPump™, Zumba, and much more, there’s a class to suit every energy level. Why not unwind after a session in the recently refurbished steam room and other spa facilities?

The Mountbatten Centre's 50-metre swimming pool (divided into two) and learner pool offer regular public swimming sessions, pool-based classes, lessons, and courses throughout the week. Encourage the kids to make a splash with Wet & Wacky sessions, or dive into a new challenge with the large pool inflatable obstacle course – AquaDash! - offering 50 minutes of splashing fun. There are options for AquaDash! birthday parties too.

BH Live delivers some great Health & Wellbeing classes, to ease older individuals and those with long-term health conditions or illnesses back into sport. Over 50? Have a go at badminton, table tennis or tennis every Monday with TOFFS Over 50s Racquet Sports and No Strings Badminton, or why not try a low-impact class with Walking Netball or Walking Football? The Mums & Tots Netball sessions are great for mums with little ones too – a perfect blend of fitness and fun.

As well as hosting regular events and competitions throughout the year, the centre's Clip ‘N Climb attraction*, tennis courts, artificial training pitches, outdoor velodrome, sports hall, and athletics tracks are also available to book on a pay-as-you-go basis.

Open to both members and non-members, the Terrace Café offers free customer WiFi and a children’s soft play facility, providing the perfect space to relax after a busy day. Here you can buy all sorts of snacks, meals and drinks - including coffees, soft drinks, hot food, grab-and-go nutrition, and much more.
