Commercial Road is Portsmouth's city centre, where you'll find all the big-name brands you know and love.

Just a stone's throw from Portsmouth & Southsea train station you'll find the likes of Primark, H&M, Waterstones, HMV, Next, WH Smith, TK Maxx, New Look, River Island, Boots, Lush, Pandora and many more besides. There are also many great coffee shops to rest up as you shop 'til you drop - with local independent outlets alongside the likes of Costa and Starbucks. If you want something more substantial, there are fast food outlets including McDonalds, Greggs, KFC and Burger King, plus a host of smaller indie places to sample something new. If you're after sweet treats, there's even an ice cream parlour.

Commercial Road is also home to Cascades Shopping Centre, the undercover plaza where many of the aforementioned shops are located. It also has a car park and independent alley - where small retailers can start their journey.

On Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays you'll find the City Centre Market set up, with a host of stalls selling food, gifts, homewares and more. There are also special markets throughout the year, including the large Bavarian Christmas Market.

If you want a break from the hustle and bustle, Portsmouth's oldest public park is very close by. At Victoria Park you'll find places to sit, a children's play area and a number of special memorial installations.
