Portsmouth’s iconic Guildhall, is the official residence of the Lord Mayor of Portsmouth. The Lord Mayor's Banqueting Suite, which encompasses the sumptuous Lord Mayors Banqueting Room and the smaller Lady Mayoress’ Parlour. The Banqueting Suite is licensed to hold civil wedding ceremonies in both the Parlour and the Banqueting Room. Rich in history, this decadent room with high ceilings and original features is bathed in natural light from its grand windows. Located on the second floor, the Banqueting Room offers grandeur fit for the Lord Mayor and is ideal for conferences, meetings and dinners.
Rarely seen, the Lord Mayor’s suite houses not just the opulent rooms but also the city’s Royal Charters, the three Maces and an impressive collection of rare and historical artefacts dating back to the 12th century.
The Lord Mayor’s Banqueting Room is ideal for large parties, with the Lady Mayoress’ Parlour with its opulent yet enchantingly intimate atmosphere is perfect for smaller celebrations.
