About

Join Portsmouth Cathedral for two events marking Palm Sunday.

#PompeySundays

The day starts with a relaxed and welcoming celebration of Palm Sunday. This informal service invites all ages to reflect on the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem, with the added joy of meeting real donkey visitors! In a café-style setting, there will be a chance to engage in conversation, share in prayer, and join in the procession of palms.

Take a coffee along or join for one after the service, at this coming together to mark the beginning of Holy Week. It's a friendly, open atmosphere where everyone is welcome to share in the joy and anticipation of Easter.

Procession of Palms and Sung Eucharist

The Palm Sunday Eucharist service begins with a procession from Grand Parade, to gather with palms and be joined by real donkey visitors. There will then be a procession into the Cathedral to hear the Passion sung by the Cathedral Choir, guiding attendees through this important moment in the Christian calendar. This special service blends the joy of Christ's entry into Jerusalem with the solemnity of the Passion, offering a meaningful start to Holy Week.

All are welcome to come and participate in this memorable celebration.
