About
The Southsea Deli serves Portsmouth with the best of the South Coast and beyond, with quality produce from the best suppliers around.
Southsea's only independent, classic delicatessen sources food and drink from small producers across Hampshire, Sussex, Dorset and Somerset. It only goes beyond this when absolutely necessary.
Preferred suppliers include Bread Addiction from right here in Portsmouth (on the same road, in fact!), as well as West Sussex coffee roasters Edgecumbes, Hayling Island dairy Northney Farm, and Dorset's Olives Et Al.
Whilst concentrating on driving down food miles with quality produce from the local area, The Southsea Deli also works with partners across the continent to bring in some of the best items that simply cannot be found in the UK. This diversifies the offering with food and drink from Italy, Spain and Greece.
As well as buying ingredients to take home, there are freshly prepared eats to enjoy, made every single day. The team only uses fresh, seasonal ingredients, to offer healthy and delicious food on the go.
Though primarily a food store (with a small amount of seating), The Southsea Deli also host events and food workshops - see the website for upcoming dates and details. You will also find its sandwiches, cakes and coffee served from the deli truck at Eastney Beach, near the caravan park and swimming pool.
Deli owner Daniel has trained in food quality, and spent ten years working in Jamie Oliver HQ. He has travelled the world researching ethical food issues, animal welfare and sustainability.
