About
The World War 1 Remembrance Centre in Portsmouth hosts 90-minute guided tours for Heritage Open Days.
The centre is dedicated to the eternal memory of those who fought and died in the conflict. It houses many artefacts from World War 1 as well as models, memorabilia and displays telling the human stories behind the historical headlines. If, for instance, you don't know how World War 1 links the Titanic to Alice in Wonderland, you'll find out!
As well as free entrance and a large free car park, volunteers provide free guided tours of the centre, which is housed in a 160-year-old brick-built military bastion in the north of Portsmouth. Throughout the year, the centre opens from 11am to 2pm on Sundays and Tuesdays-Thursdays.
