About
South Coast Wakepark is the best place to try wakeboarding on the South Coast - a British Water Ski & Wakeboard accredited park, located in the calm and sheltered waters of the historic moat of Hilsea Lines.
In the 1930’s the western end of the moat became known as the Hilsea lagoon and work was done on the banks to turn it into a boating lake. Staying true to the lagoon's leisure heritage, South Coast Wakepark was opened with a view to bring back those nostalgic feelings of enjoying summer days on the water.
Since the park opened it has been continually improved, all helping to grow a sporting and wakeboarding community whilst delivering a fantastic experience for all to try. The wakepark now has an on-site coffee shop, watersports shop as well as showers and changing facilities.
Cable Wakeboarding
Welcoming everyone from beginners to pros, South Coast Wakepark offers great quality tuition and has a unique facility including a 200m straight line cable wakeboarding system with a great range of features to progress your ability at any level.
For beginners, the System 2.0 wakepark is the perfect learning tool - being easier than the traditional boat pulls and the bigger cable parks around. One at a time on the cable means the instructors can cater sessions to all, ensuring everyone gets the most from their time on the water.
South Coast Wakepark offers qualified 1-2-1 wakeboarding lessons with qualified coaches. It doesn’t matter if you’ve never done anything like this before, the instructors will run through an on-land lesson to coach you through the correct techniques. Following on from your lessons and safety briefing it'll be time to head out on the water for a great experience with full guidance and coaching to get you ripping it up like a pro!
At South Coast Wakepark there's a friendly, sociable atmosphere, as riders of abilities thrive in a no pressure environment. Whether you're looking to try it on your own, with a friend, make friends or just pop down for a social, everybody is welcome.
The team takes pride in getting people up and riding on their very first wakeboarding session, so whatever your background is, whatever sports you do, give wakeboarding a try and let this new buzz really grab hold of you.
Paddleboarding
An amazingly calm and quiet section of water tucked just out of the way of the busy wakepark is the perfect place to experience the joys of paddleboarding.
The calm water is a great place to learn the basics, practise some flatwater paddling skills or just spend some time on the water with family and friends. Paddleboarding is a great introduction to watersports and is gentle and fun for all abilities and ages! If wakeboarding is a bit too out there for you but you still want to enjoy the water then book onto a paddleboard session.
Coaches will give you a safety briefing and run you through the basics on the land, before helping launch you and your board out onto the lake, whilst keeping a watchful eye over you and your group, providing tips along the way.
Paddleboard sessions are also great for parties and corporate team building events, as well as stag and hen do’s. These paddleboard sessions can also be added onto your group cable wakeboard bookings to make a real day out on the water.
