About
Junior detectives are invited to Fort Nelson this February half term to have a go at solving a murder mystery.
Step back in time to the Victorian era at Fort Nelson, where Cabinet Minister Sir Robert Fleet has been murdered. The local constabulary needs help from junior detectives to solve the crime.
Budding investigators can pick up a crime file on arrival, examine the scene and gather some evidence to start their quest.
Detectives will find five costumed characters stationed around the fort: Dr William Wallington, Cook Nancy Nelson, Officer Sidney Southwick, Patrick Purbrook and Constable Walter Widley. Visitors will listen to these suspects’ statements and use the evidence to crack the case.
The free event takes place during February half term - Monday 17 to Friday 21 February. Visitors are asked to book their free tickets online at royalarmouries.org to guarantee their visit, as there are capacity limits in place on site.
The activity is aimed at children aged 6 – 12 years old, although younger ones might need some adult help to complete the tasks. It promises to be a fun day out for all the family.
Please note, Mystery at the Fort event is only on weekdays of the February half term. The Fort is open 10am to 4pm.
