‘Sherlock: “Punch me in the face”
John “Punch you?”
Sherlock “Yes, punch me in the face. Didn’t you hear me?”
John “I always hear ‘punch me in the face’ when you’re speaking – but it’s usually
sub-text”’
This is dialogue from the episode “Scandal in Belgravia” from series 2 of the BBC series of
Sherlock first transmitted in 2012.
The BBC series Sherlock, created by Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat, was first aired
in 2010. So far there have been four three part series, set in the present day, and a
special Christmas episode set in Victorian times which aired in 2016.
