The Adventures of the Creeping Man was published nearly 40 years after A Study in Scarlet, as part of The Casebook of Sherlock Holmes (1927), the final collection of Holmes stories before Sherlock retired to keep bees. By that time, he had become a famous figure all over the world - with Conan Doyle's stories translated into dozens of languages.
The Adventures of the Creeping Man sees him trying to solve the case of the internationally-renowned Professor Presbury, whose curious behaviour has been concerning and frightening his friends and family in equal measure.
This is the original manuscript bequeathed to the Collection by Conan Doyle's second daughter, Dame Jean Conan Doyle
