The adverts shown include one from Porter Brothers of Commercial Road, Landport; another from H R Viggers, Assessment and Auditor of Union Street, Portsea as well as adverts for the Albany Hotel and the opening of the Landport Drapery Bazaar by Mr R R Davies.
It is thought that Doyle used the newspaper to advertise his medical practice in Portsmouth.
