Sherlock Holmes faces death

This is the 6th film starring Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce. It is a loose adaptation of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Holmes story "The Adventure of the Musgrave Ritual." It also stars Hillary Brooke, Milburn Stone, Dennis Hoey, Arthur Margetson, Mary Gordon and Halliwell Hobbes. Dr Watson is a resident physician at Musgrave Manor, a hospital for soldiers suffering from shell shock. Another physician is attacked and Watson asks for Holmes' help.  Holmes then discovers the body of Geoffrey Musgrave. The 'Musgrave Ritual' is performed, passing the Manor on to the next brother who is then also murdered. Holmes must investigate the text of 'The Musgrave Ritual' to solve the case.
