This is the cover of the September 1914 Strand Magazine promoting the "Best Sherlock Holmes adventure".

This is the first appearance of The Valley Of Fear. There is also a full page colour drawing of Holmes at the opening chapter of the story. This is the only colour print ever published of Sherlock Holmes internally in the Strand and was by the illustrator, Frank Wiles.
